This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist legal team supporting high-quality Housing Litigation work for social housing clients. You’ll gain exposure to a varied caseload, including disrepair and possession matters, while working closely with experienced solicitors, clients and other professionals. The role offers strong supervision, development and the opportunity to build valuable experience within a growing and specialist area of law.
The Opportunity
Working closely with Housing Litigation solicitors, you’ll support the delivery of a high-quality legal service to a range of clients, including housing associations, local authorities and charity landlords.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting housing litigation matters from pre-action through to litigation.
- Assisting with disrepair and possession cases.
- Drafting correspondence and court documents under supervision.
- Liaising with courts, counsel, experts and clients.
- Assisting with case preparation, settlements, billing and reporting.
- Maintaining accurate case files and case management records.
- Recording time accurately and ensuring key deadlines are met.
Requirements
- Previous Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience is preferred, but not essential.
- A genuine interest in Housing Law, Property Litigation or Civil Litigation.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
- IT literacy and confidence using case management systems.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
This role would particularly suit someone looking to gain practical experience in Housing Litigation and develop their legal career within a supportive and purpose-driven environment.
