Whaley Bridge
Whaley Bridge, "The Gateway to the Goyt" is situated on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District. It provides an ideal base for those visitors who wish to explore the High Peak.
Outstanding scenery surrounds the town and can be easily reached by foot, public transport or car. Whaley Bridge is the start of the Peak Forest Canal, and in the early 1800's was a busy inland port where limestone and coal were transferred from rail to canal boat. The towpath is just part of the 30 miles of public footpaths around the town.
